parus.work. Albert Schaeffer. AIgraphy. 2025
Albert Schaeffer, known professionally as parus.work, was born in Munich in 1957. He came to art after formative years as a lawyer, journalist and clown—an unconventional path that continues to shape the sensibility of his work. He is engaged in the evolving dialogue between human imagination and artificial intelligence (AI) - for him a new renAIssance®.
His project Unlived Lives presents an archive of possible selves: portraits of individuals who never existed in our world, yet feel as though they might be breathing in a neighbouring dimension. Each image gestures toward a life that never began, a presence suspended between memory, fiction and potentiality.
His work has been exhibited in major cultural centres across Europe and beyond—from Paris, Venice and Amsterdam to New York and Dubai. He advocates for a future in which human creativity and AI do not compete but amplify one another, expanding the imaginative horizon of what art can be.
